In the presence of this substance, the hypothalamus is literally reprogrammed in such a way that when caloric intake is reduced, the body will maintain its normal metabolic rate and draw on fat reserves to make up the shortage.
HCG diet plans call for some changes in the foods you normally eat as well as a drastic reduction in calories. This is the difficult part for most people on traditional diets; eating less results in feelings of deprivation and ongoing, gnawing hunger.
