Here we are talking about abstinence from food, surely an unsafe way to lose weight. So, is there a healthy way for a teen to lose the excess weight? The answer is yes. Eating a healthy diet and fitness training is the best way to lose weight.</p>
<p> A healthy diet should have a good follow through with the right exercise. Fitnessbuilding is another great way to lose those extra pounds. There are various workout programs like body building, attending group classes in a gym or health club, or burning those calories on the treadmill or various other fitness equipment.</p>
<p> There are also other sports such as basketball, football, or swimming that the teen can engage especially when the body can still withstand the pressures of rigorous activity.</p>

<p>These usually focus on a low calorie diet plan. Although there is nothing wrong should this be done for an adult, again, this is harmful for teens. This is because a sudden loss in their caloric intake will prompt the body to take defensive measures to compensate for the deficiency.</p>
<p> In fact, the same effects will happen should the teenager even think of going on a starvation diet.</p>
<p> Another unsafe way to lose weight would be to vomit out the food that was eaten. This is worse than starving oneself because the body expels hydrochloric acid that burns the throat and the teeth.</p>
<p>There is nothing wrong with eating. The problem occurs when the teenager eats too much food that contains fats and sugars. This is the reason that many become overweight. They also forget they need a daily fitness workout to burn the excess calories that they consume.</p>

<p>You must get in touch with your nutritionist and get yourself a proper diet plan that will help you lose extra pounds.  There is an evaluation process done before embarking on any exercise program, which includes the details of lifestyle and eating patterns that would help understand the kind of food the individual is consuming. The importance of external appearance is such that now people don&#8217;t feel good about anything if their external appearance is bad. Earlier, the way to find about a person&#8217;s family was to look at his body. If he is overweight, then he belongs to a good or rich family who feeds him well and bad, if that person is thin. But now the things have changed, everyone is self-conscious about their own bodies, be it rich, middle class or poor. The world is a cruel place; they won&#8217;t let anyone live if they find something odd in that person. I myself was a victim of over-weight, 5 years back. I reduced weight recently and have seen change in people&#8217;s attitude towards me. Below I will write down my experience with people when I was fat. Trust me; you wouldn&#8217;t really want to be <strong>overweight</strong>.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p><strong>School life:</strong> There was not a single day that went without people teasing me. It was not a big deal for them but when there are more than 10 people teasing you on the SAME issue, it does hurt and it strikes your head like a bullet. I was so embarrassed that I even stopped answering in my class, concerned as to what other kids will think about me. Would they laugh? Would they tease me in front of teacher? I even stopped playing sports, because I didn&#8217;t want anyone to see me running carrying fat on all the wrong places. Even teachers teased me to some extent. It turned me into an introvert.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p><strong>Restaurants/Parties:</strong> I reduced outings with my friends, because whenever we went for an outing it included heaving eating. Everyone had well maintained bodies but me. On an outing, when I asked to eat something or even when I said &#8216;I am hungry&#8217;, many, many advices/teases/giggles followed. So after that I ate whatever I took in the first round and never stood up from my table for second round.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p><strong>Family:</strong> People in my family didn&#8217;t tease me but wherever I went, advices followed. It got frustrating after sometime. Can&#8217;t an overweight child even live in peace? They always advised me regarding weight loss. It was so easy to say for them. They gave me weight loss tips but they didn&#8217;t work. In my case, weight gain was a child&#8217;s play but weight loss was hard. I was suggested a weight loss diet by a doctor but I couldn&#8217;t follow that because I happened to eat something which was not suitable each day.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p><strong>Myself:</strong> I started hating myself. I couldn&#8217;t even face myself in the mirror with all that fat. I couldn&#8217;t talk to people because I was scared that they might tease me. I always thought that was there a safe weight loss? There were many free weight loss programs online but none of them worked. I was broken. I couldn&#8217;t find clothes of my sizes anywhere and because of that, I even stopped going with parents to buy clothes because of embarrassment.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p><strong>I was thin:</strong> It so happened that I joined a boarding school for my further studies and because of a proper diet there and proper eating timings, I reduced my weight greatly. I lost most of my fat just by following a proper <strong>diet plan</strong>. Why my home diet plan didn&#8217;t work? It didn&#8217;t work because it wasn&#8217;t proper. To everyone out there, please, please don&#8217;t follow any diet plan without any guidance. I have tried all that. I gained few kilos after following a diet plan, because my body went into starvation mode and it gained a lot of weight after a week or so. Follow only a proper diet plan.</p>

<p>In the hostel sitting with my friends, I saw people around me. I didn&#8217;t hear people teasing me; I didn&#8217;t see people laughing at me. It felt different. It felt good. But I saw my friends teasing others, calling them fat and laughing on them.
